Sounds like the perfect clickbait headline, right? But let’s be real — gray hair is a struggle for many, and curiosity will get the best of us!

Oops, I can already hear some people praising the salt-and-pepper look. But let’s be honest — far fewer people truly embrace their grays than those secretly (or not-so-secretly) wishing they could turn back time… or at least their hair color.

One of my closest friends had nearly half of her hair turn gray in her early 20s. We were hostel roommates, and while the rest of us didn’t have a single strand of gray, her hair often became the center of discussion — sometimes out of curiosity, sometimes out of sheer disbelief.

Yes, you got that right. This is the story of how she went from a head full of grays to a head full of rich, black hair!

After college, as we stepped into our professional lives, our paths diverged, and we moved to different cities. Talking became less frequent, and WhatsApp made its way into our lives.

Here came her immediate interruption, her voice beaming with joy. I immediately pictured the excitement on her face, as if she were standing right in front of me in those hostel corridors, scheming our next prank on the course mate we collectively didn’t like much. :P

She exclaimed, “Richa, I don’t have a single gray hair now! All of them are black — old ones and even the new strands growing in!”

I could only ask, “Wow! How did you do that?” and dear readers, here is what she did!

Back in her Pune days, among all the remedies, she began buying Amlas on her way home and made it a daily habit to eat Amla (Indian Gooseberry). And here’s the kicker, my friends: every Sunday, she’d boil 20 Amlas and store them in the refrigerator. Then, each weekday — both at lunch and dinner — she grabbed two, totaling 4 Amlas a day :|
And that’s it — six months later, her new hair started coming in black.

That’s it, guys! That’s literally it. Amla has been known for generations for its hair benefits, but witnessing it firsthand was…
